Home My Story

Who am I?

I’m Toon, a freelance journalist based in Thessaloniki, Greece. My life here is deeply intertwined with my love for nature and my fascination with the complex relationship between science and society. I find so much joy in exploring the beauty of the natural world—whether it’s hiking through the lush forests of northern Greece or simply enjoying the calm of a coastal sunset. Sometimes, when I’m not writing, I can get carried away in conversation, raving about the elegance and beauty of scientific concepts over a cup of coffee. It’s a way for me to make sense of the world around me. Balancing my love for literature and nature is a daily pleasure, one that keeps me grounded and connected to the world I write about.

When I’m not working, I spend my time absorbing the grandeur of Greece’s landscapes—reading a book on a secluded beach, exploring the mountains, or just getting lost in the city’s vibrant streets. There’s something truly magical about being surrounded by the beauty of Greece’s nature—whether it’s finding peace in a quiet forest or feeling the rush of the sea breeze against my face. It’s a wonderful way to recharge and reflect, and it gives me endless inspiration for my writing.

What's my favorite citation?

Every book, every volume you see here, has a world all its own. Some have fat, some thin. The paper with the thin gray dust for pulp. The others… like the crystals in a quartz, if you rubbed them the right way, illuminated the unknown.
